Eating with our eyes
Bento is amazing for assembling a micro buffet all in one lunchbox. It’s like a miniature handheld food festival packed into a container.
Brown paper packages
Gifting moments to yourself.
Lunch can be one of those moments in the day that is wedged between other tasks, a gulp and go.
There’s always so much vying for our attention, either ‘must do’, ‘have been meaning to do’ or ‘want to do to get away from the must do’.
Multi tasking sounds great in theory, but can be really taxing on our brains. With no time to pause it’s tricky trying to come up for air or be totally in the moment.
I’m endeavouring to reclaim lunch for this purpose.
On a recent break away, I’d wrap my humble sandwich as a gift to myself. Creating a moment where I wanted to savour the unwrapping. It’s only brown paper packaging (the bread bag) tied up with string - but it’s quickly becoming one of my favourite things.
Take a moment - treat yourself.
Connection
There are some days when i wonder why is is we do what we do.
Then I pause, look around, check new growth, maybe find something to add to dinner and the picture becomes clearer.
