Connection
Bulli crop swap in August
Sometimes I wonder why we do what we do here in this little market garden tucked into an urban backyard.
Everything seems to be moving so fast these days, there’s so much white noise, information overload and perpetual tasks vying for our attention.
It seems to this little grower that what many of us crave is to connect and get grounded.
I feel that small scale businesses (in the food growing sector especially) can be likened to mycellium. You won’t always see us, but occasionally we’ll become visible dispersing in favourable conditions.
We share our experiences and knowledge gleaned over many years (especially for us first generation growers) with friends, community, interns, groups we work with, customers and the curious.
Us small scale growers are participating in a larger living system than any of us really comprehend, to grow connection to our health and well being.
Mostly we’re growing connection to a system we rely on for every single breath and every meal.
Depending on where you are, here’s a little reading list of great organisations acting as mycellium in their communities.
