Lunch mobile
The lunch mobile only had one offering today, as that’s all I packed.
In today’s world, choices are abundant. All those choices come with conditions though. It may be you pay in time, maybe it’s a cost thing, it may well be having no true idea as to what we’re eating. Maybe it feels like a little bit of indulgence so you don’t have to eat your own cooking all the time.
When traveling last year, I was shocked to see how many people were lined up at local food outlets around the business district spending precious lunch minutes in a queue waiting for someone else to finish playing with their food. I’m much more one of those F.O.T.F* lunchbox packers enjoying the local park kinda kids. Always on the look out for a few herbs or flowers to add too.
There are so many studies out and about how eating wholefood impacts on our well-being - body and mind. Felice Jacka has researched far and wide on this topic. Lots of information how ultraprocessed foods impact on children too - which is one of the groups I work with. The Food & Mood Centre at Deakin University has plenty of resources to dive into.
*F.O.T.F. - Festival Of The Fridge. A term coined several years ago in our house giving leftovers a glow up.
